Support Groups

Led by licensed mental health counselors, peer supporters, Dar a Luz moms, midwives and RN birth assistants, our groups grow and thrive organically.

Sore nipples? Low milk supply? Worried about returning to work and pumping? Or just wanting to spend some time visiting and sharing with other breastfeeding moms? This group is for you.

Come share your stories, worries, and valuable experience with other moms! This group offers the opportunity to share in the wisdom of other breastfeeding mothers and birth center professionals. Concerned that your baby might not be getting enough milk?  Wondering how other moms deal with night feedings? Come share your questions and experience.

Have you heard about our donor milk collection program? We are New Mexico's only Milk Depot! We collect frozen breastmilk and ship it to a Milk Bank, for pasteurization and distribution to sick babies. Read about it on our Milk Depot page, or come to Breastfeeding Support Group and talk to our coordinator mom, Whitney.

Postpartum Workshop for Partners! (adults only)

Postpartum is not only challenging for mamas to navigate: partners also have their own unique set of obstacles. Please join Kimberlee Maresma, LPCC and Jose Maresma, husband and wife team, for an evening of an emotionally safe exploration of the differences our partners face after the birth of a new baby.

This Workshop is FOR PARTNERS ONLY. Kimberlee will be present for only the first few minutes to explain some of the general hormonal/physiological/emotional changes that occur in most females right after birth. Jose will then lead a two-hour discussion/dialogue for you partners who need the space to talk, and ask questions and find support with one another. Suggested donation: $10-20

Available the fourth Thursday of every even-numbered month (February, April, etc.) from 6 to 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
